In School Support

“Teachers can sometimes be intimidating for parents and parents won’t speak up, but Angel Eyes were very instrumental in facilitating the conversations between the parent and the school.”

Two young children, both wearing glasses, are focused on a laptop while sitting at a table. The boy in a purple shirt is typing, and the girl in a yellow apron with a floral shirt watches intently. Other people are blurred in the background.

Getting the right support in school is essential to your child achieving their potential.

When considering in-school support, think of the following:

  • Are staff aware of my child’s eye condition and how it impacts their ability to access learning and the environment?
  • Is my child able to access their learning resources/ materials?
  • Can my child move safely and independently in the school environment?
  • Would my child benefit from accessing their learning through a digital device?
  • Can my child use their device effectively across all curriculum subjects?
  • Is my child forming positive relationships with staff and peers?
  • Would school staff benefit from training?
  • Is my child able to participate and being included in the classroom and wider school life?
  • Does my child have individual targets that support their needs? Do targets support the acquisition of skills they require as a pupil with vision impairment? Skills needed to perform alongside their peers, e.g., touch typing, orientation, and mobility?

If you have any questions about the support your child is receiving in school do not hesitate to contact us.

“Angel Eyes has literally saved my sanity. The Education Advocate is a qualified teacher, who knows what a classroom is like and was able to advise me and tell me what support I should be expecting for my daughter.”

A young child with glasses and a pink shirt excitedly raises a hand while looking at a blue laptop. Next to the child, an adult with blond hair smiles and looks at the screen. They are seated at a table with various small toys in the background.
