Jenny is a student teacher and has been volunteering with Angel Eyes NI for 5 years, she says:

“I began volunteering at Angel Eyes NI 5 years ago when Angel Eyes NI came into my university's Freshers Fair. At first, I did not know what to expect, but when I began to attend events regularly, I had the opportunity to meet some of the most amazing children and their families.  These children have had a lot of challenges in you, but you would not think that when you see them playing games, singing, dancing, and just being happy and content. Working with the children each month and seeing their progress is one of the most rewarding experiences.
More recently, I have had the chance to work with the older group of young people who are so full of energy and knowledge. I have learned a lot from listening to their experiences. It is great to volunteer in their groups and build relationships – I have also had the opportunity to volunteer with some of them when working with the younger children.
Angel Eyes NI is run by dedicated staff who have given so much to helping children with visual impairments.  They put time and effort into creating positive experiences that can accommodate such a wide range of needs – they are so thoughtful and have created memories that will last a lifetime.”

We are recruiting volunteers across Northern Ireland.

There is no deadline, and we welcome volunteers throughout the year. We look forward to hearing from you.
