Family Services Coordinator
janine.dougan@angeleyesni.org
I have two beautiful grown-up daughters and until recently a very badly behaved dog.
Before joining Angel Eyes NI I worked in the N.H.S for over 40 years.
I worked in a Special Care Baby Unit for years before moving into the community were I was a nurse in a special needs school in Belfast. My last post was running groups and providing home visits for young families. I am pleased to bring all this experience to Angel Eyes NI and to work in this great team.
I am extremely passionate about the importance of early intervention and that each child or young person should receive the correct service and support as soon as possible. I recognise the added pressure on families when a child has a visual impairment and or other additional needs and how providing empathetic support is vital. I believe that parents are the experts on their own child and what the family needs, peer support and bringing people together is also crucial and the importance of all working together.
