Youth Advocate
I have worked with young people for over 10 years in a youth work and education setting, particularly supporting their mental health and emotional well-being. In 2020 I completed a Masters in Psychology, focusing on the impact of trauma on young people in NI. This has led to my work having a trauma-informed approach at its core.
I am passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of young people and finding ways to give young people the best possible chance in life, providing them with the opportunities, support, knowledge and tools to fulfil their potential. In my role as Youth Advocate, I listen to, support and advocate on behalf of children and young people to try and remove any barriers in their path and create opportunities. I provide opportunities for young people to come together to meet other young people with vision impairments while focusing on their personal development, supporting transitions and making lasting friendships.
